Professional web certification testing:

Our certififed web professionals, will be given a listing in the public directory of certified web professionals.

They will also be given the opprotunity to work with and for our customers setting up and maintaining their web sites.

How to Certify as a Web Professional?

If you have read through all the web certification material provided, then you may be ready for the tests.

To be awarded a web certification, we require that you undertake two functional tests:

1) You will create for yourself a resume / portfolio that will both represent and demonstrate specific skills

2) You will create a blueprint site for a 'fictional client' demonstrating your ability to analyze a client's needs and build a site suitable for their purposes, audience and market.

1) You will create for yourself a resume / portfolio site that will both represent and demonstrate the following skills:

• Web design
• Search Engine Optimization
• Content Creation
• Navigation design
• Usability
• Use of our toolkit

This site will include all of the following modules:

• Blog
• Blog summary
• Text
• Images
• Contact Us
• Gallery / Portfolio
• Slide show

It will also include any three of the following modules:

• E-commerce store
• Voting
• Registration / Login
• Forum
• Form (custom form other than contact or registration forms).
• Video
• Script

Ideally your portfolio site should provide / include

• Actual references

• A real client portfolio (its ok if the sites listed were not designed and built with this application, but each one should include a url, contact, and description of the clients business model, audience and market.)
• Five or more real client testimonials.
• A minimum of 10 inbound links
• Carefully chosen keyphrases, consistently and professionally used. (hint: use the keyword manager).

2) You will create a blueprint site for a 'fictional client' demonstrating your ability to analyze a client's needs and build a site suitable for their purposes, audience and market.

Use the form below to notify us when you are ready to take this part of the test. At that time you will be assisgned your 'fictional client'. This will take the form of a one page description of the business, concerns, aesthetic considerations and objectives of a client.

Taking this information carefully into account you will be required to research the client's industry and market to determine how best to design the site, and what content, pages, functionality etc would be appropriate for it. You will also be expected to research what keyphrases you should use for 'on site SEO' and to apply that information to the site pages.

Once completed, please publish your site and using the form below, please notify us that you have done so.

Remember: You are not creating a website, you are creating a site blueprint.

What then?

Having created your blueprint, please do the following:

From your Shroggle Dashboard, select the blueprint that you would like to submit to the examiners. Then click on the 'Publish' button. You will be asked to fill in a brief form for this blueprint, then the blueprint will be submitted for review.

Once you have completed both your 'resume site' and your 'site blueprint' - please fill in the form below.

If the site and blueprint are determined to meet the requirements:

• You will be given a 'Shroggle Certified' logo to put on your web site(s)
• You will be added to the directory of Shroggle certified web professionals
• Your Shroggle resume will be linked to from the Shroggle directory.
