What is a Site Blueprint?

Site Blueprints are complete template web sites including, design, pages, functionality and default content.

Templates can be designed and equipped for the particular needs of the potential site owner, according to their business, industry and functional needs.

A new customer can choose a blueprint site for himself, or a consultant can help him analyze his buisness needs and assist him in making the decision.

Under certain circumstances where customer needs are sufficiently similar, site content can be populated in part or even entirely from data collected from custom registration forms. In effect a site registrant would simply fill in a form and a fully functional, site with appropriate content will be generated and published automatically. These blueprints thereby generate a fully functioning web sites each time that a registrant purchases one.

These sites have the advantage of being editable through a single registration form, which might be suitable for sites intended for very narrowly specified purposes. They can be created and managed by very low tech users, with minimal support.

What does this process look like?

You will collaborate with WebDeva to design site blueprints for a particular purpose. 

Blueprints may optionally contain one or more site pages as well as default content, (editable or non editable as required) and specified functional elements.

The available range of functionality is quite extensive including:
Text, video, images, blogs, forums, voting modules, search / filter functionality, forms, galleries / directories or catalogs, navigation menus, registration forms, password protected pages, audio elements, support for scripts, seo optimization etc.

What is the User Experience like with a Blueprint site?

1. A registration form is made available to prospective customers via a web page.
2. The form is specific to the needs of the client. It is designed to collect data that will be displayed in the registrants blueprint site (usually used for contact us, about us pages).
3. Once the form is filled in the user is asked to select between multiple blueprints (if available). 
4. An email confirmation is sent to the registrant with a link.
5. Once the link is clicked on the site is created automatically using the form data and the blueprint (design, content and functionality).
6. The registrant can edit their basic information at any time by returning to this web page and logging in and editing the details in this form.
7. Registrants are also given 'access to full editing capabilities' through a 'white labeled web site creator interface'.
8. This interface will permit them to add additional pages; to add additional content / functionality to existing or new pages, and to edit the color scheme of their pages, move items around  (providing the blueprint permits each of these actions).

Revenue Model / Fee Structure:

• WebDeva charges the client a small fee for the creation of each blueprint $400 - $900 each depending on functional and design requirements and the number of blueprints needed.
• WebDeva charges the white label corporate customer a per site monthly fee of $3 - $10 (negotiable for volume).
• Our customer charges their registrant some fee over and above this.

 

FAQs

Q. Will I be able to manage / edit my customers sites.

A. Yes you will have a dashboard of all the sites in your network. This will afford you access to all sites and if you choose, it can also be configured to give you access to account details.

 

Q. Can I limit what content and functional elements the customer can edit?

A. Blueprints can be designed and build to provide complete control over which page elements can be edited by the client. However if you choose to give your client the option to create sites without a site blueprint, you are essentially giving him the freedom to create any site and to change anything on that site.

 

Q. Can I create my own blueprints?

A. Yes you can create your own blueprints from within the WebDeva administrative interface.
